After you are arrested

WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO ME IN THIS CRIMINAL CASE, NOW THAT I HAVE BEEN ARRESTED?

The honest answer is that no attorney can predict the outcome, nor even give a useful opinion, without reviewing and knowing about all the specific violations and charges filed by the prosecutor, the defendant’s Priors record, prosecutor’s evidence including police reports, expected testimony of various witnesses and parties, defenses available, sympathy issues, etc.

The best that can be offered to the client in the beginning of the case is a general guideline based upon the attorney’s experience in the court system with similar cases and fact situations. It is up to the attorney to make sure the client has a realistic understanding of the problems and risks he faces, as well as realistic expectations of what the attorney can do for the client.
